I have the No CD English version. I downloaded it from the internet.

It's the best F1 Manager game ever and I am VERY HAPPY that there is some new life at this forum! I am even happier that some people are busy with modding the game! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS!!!!

I'm using DSR's 0.92 CD version, but with Hybrid's no-CD crack "patched" onto it (along with other stuff).

My executable patch/modder utility should do that trick with any English executable.

Hmmm, we'll see what people come up with. Maybe an idea to release the patch so people just install over their files (especially if this keeps "no-cd" for the guys downloading off the web)

That depends on what the patch requires.

I can put up the ISO (to be mounted), and instructions on how to mount etc (i.e. like a CD drive from an CD-ROM image if you are not familiar).

Personally, I'd prefer if people would use the CD. I remember instabilities with the nocd back in the day and on the old forum random crashes from the game, drivers crashing randomly with no reason, drivers becoming angry for no reason too etc.

It really depends on what the guys making the 2010 mod decide.

Somehow i found a torrent of the iso and burnt it to CD. Then I installed onto hard disk. So i imagine im running the English CD version of the exe as i dont get the cracked by hybrid message as per the abandonware sites version.

What you could do is make the iso version available but make all the .MOV movie files 0KB in size so that the package is smaller and the game can still be run. Then offer the movies separate. With DOSBox, everyone should be able to get the CD version running from the hard disk without the CD, without needing a cracked exe.

No point working on a cracked exe with instabilities. And most people from 2010 will likely be running WinXP or higher so DOSBox will be used more and more.

Awesome to see this game FINALLY getting modded I know how hard it can be. I was the creator of the GP World tools for Grand Prix World years back. I feel rewarded seeing someone doing the hard yards for me this time! haha

I think it's perfectly reasonable to only consider DOSBox support.

(From recollection it runs way better in DOSBox now than it did under Win98 when I first got the game. I had problems with sound IRQ/DMA, videos, screen resolution, maybe even getting the right MSCDEX driver for DOS? Whereas DOSBox works immediately.)

In any case, DOSBox is required to run it on any Windows since NT/2k, and I assume the game will now work under any OS that has a DOSBox version (Linux & Mac OS X, namely).
