Hi, I have been trying to get this game to work for ages I not very good with dosbox and how it works so this might be the problem. I dragged the F1.exe into dosbox and then it starts to load. But then I get the message "checking MSCDEX ..... not found. Program Aborted" My machine is XP. Please help?

I have worked out how to use dosbox ;D I think.
This is what I typed in dosbox,
mount d q:\ -t cdrom mount c c:\F1 c: F1.EXE
Is this right?
Only asking as the screen stays black and all you can hear is a screeching sound.
Please! Please! help?

Glad that you got it working. Sorry noone was here to help sooner. Seems people only come here when they want something. But usualy there are 4 of us who can offer help.
The link on the site, I have no clue about. It's probably as Simtek is busy with the 2005 Update for F1 Man Pro. Furious I think is away on holiday.
As for updates, I don't think there is a season update at all. There are some Official Updates, but these were for German versions.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for replying.
I will have to download F1 manager pro. I got this working to see if F1 Pro would work on my computer.
Are the specs different in any way?

With xp i think its impossible to play this game, the vídeos never run, and when dosbox tries to play video, it returns to windows. I played the game with xp, put music and great speed, but no vídeo (I think the software misses dos, xp doesn´t allow to play dos things), I could play until the end of a championship race, when needs a video to conclude the end of the race and returns to windows. I will trie one last time to run with xp coping no movie to the cd that plays the game, then no movie can be played, last chance...... or windows 98

I'm having a similar problem with getting it to run in dosbox from XP actually For some reason, it jumps my CPU cycles from 3000 to max (but it keeps 0 for frameskip) when the game starts to load and all I get is a clicking noise which I am guessing is the first note in the music (maybe that's the same thing that remus had?), lol My CD drive is E and I've chucked the game on K. The PC itself is only about 15 months old if that helps. I also tried switching the compatibility under the install file to each of the windows OS it lists but the best I can get from that is the intro to play then it just cuts back to windows explorer which is rather annoying since I love playing this game but haven't got it working since my last PC died and had to change to XP.
