Just to keep people updated on the latest news around here.
Hoepfully the site and forums will receive an upsurge in popularity as it has been a little recently.
I've got a new "F1 Manager" style site on the way. The idea is there anyway.
The new 2007 Update is in progress.
I'm contemplating on moving forums to a new better PHP one. What do people think? (You'd have to re-register etc. / but it would be a better / up to date interface).

Are you suggesting a facelift? I dont think that would harm anyone (and if you change the web address and get rid of the proboards42 crap, we'll be in buisness).

It would be more than a facelift, because it would be all hosted on my site, and Proboards don't give access to their database, everyone would need to re-register and it would be a "from new" forum.
I think I could take all the chat from here and try to take stuff out of it for the new website anyway (like setups / sponsorship tips).
It would be a completely fresh start. No posts at the start at all.
It would be reached at like f1man.co.uk/FORUMSHERE or something.

I'd dig it, as long as it has:
1) A continuos login feature, so every time I visit I dont have to log back in again
2) Member numbers, and I expect a high one

lol. I know what flowdown is saying, and I completely agree.
Right, I'll get looking into that straight away. The only problem, is getting people to use that rather than here.
Once the new forum is up, I'll delete everything here, and sort out one board with 1 topic. giving a brief that we have moved.
Right then, that's one thing sorted I guess.

I'm working more on it recently as I am also doing a parallel project with an old GP2 game, but that only really kicks into gear on weekends. Plus working more on the update too, but that is going fine.
It's just wondering how parts of the site can connect (that'll make sense once you see the idea!)
And right now I want to get the new forum up and going. I will perhaps install a good skin for it too later on, but I'll install it first.

I've found the 2004 update for F1 Manager Pro. But sre there any ohter recent years updates, or just the 2004 one?

If you need help on the update, im willing to help. Im also working on an update for 2007, at this moment Im more looking into getting and converting pictures and changing teams then statistics and engineering teams....
so perhaps we could combine something?

Considering that the game is now about 10 years old, and no one visits this site anymore suggests that no update will ever happen in the future.

Hey guys, sorry, just been busy with RL. The stats usage shows people visit the old site still to as well as these forums. I'll try to crack on with things. Would be interesting to get some people back who were finding out awesome things with the code. and tank, no 2007 update yet, I would like to see yours too. I will even host it if need be so people have a choice. But if you wish to work together, Really, it's stats that are the main problem.

Quick update. It's been almost 2 years since that last post and I was indeed let down by that "friend". That word wasn't the best to use, but it was a friend who also did GP4 mods and has since vanished. To keep peopel updated and to get you tell me what you want now that a lot of peopel come here for F1 Man things... post in here: simtek.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Pro&action=display&thread=150Get some suggestions in. There is a planned new site so you can download things like it should of been. This game is too good to let it die, and hopefully word will spread and more will play. The only thing I will say is there will be no new forum. I'm concious if this forum goes, many users won't re-register or "forget" where the new one is. A colour uplift may help here though!  |
